John Roger Potter, MD
Dr. Potter holds BA and MD degrees from the University of Kentucky. He completed his internship and pediatric residency at University of Louisville Children’s Hospital. Dr. Potter is a current member of the staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center, where he has served as the Chief of Pediatrics. He has held the office of President of the Boyd County Medical Society and remains a member of that organization, as well as of the Kentucky Pediatric Society, the Kentucky Medical Association and the American Medical Association |

Ann W Craig, MD, FAAP
Dr. Craig is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Georgia Southwestern College. She earned her MD degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her internship and pediatric residency training at the Children’s Hospital at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Following the completion of her residency, Dr. Craig served as assistant chief of the outpatient pediatric clinic in the United States Air Force at Wilford Hall Medical Center, at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified in the field of Pediatric Medicine. Upon moving to Ashland in 1993, Dr. Craig joined the medical staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center, where she served as Chief of the Pediatric Department and Chairman of the Medical Records Committee. Dr. Craig was instrumental in the founding of Hope’s Place, a children’s advocacy center and has served on the board of directors at Safe Harbor in Ashland, and has served as a speaker for UCB Pharmaceuticals. Her professional organizations include American Academy of Pediatrics and C.H.A.D.D |

Ishmael W Stevens, Jr, MD, FAAP
A graduate of Paul Blazer High School and a life-time resident of Ashland, Dr. Stevens holds BA and MS degrees in Chemistry from the University of Kentucky. He received his MD and completed his pediatric residency at Marshall University. During this residency, Dr. Stevens was very active in medical student and resident education and received awards both for this research and his educational contributions. Dr. Stevens is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Stevens is currently on the medical staff at King’s Daughters Medical Center and is a member of the Boyd County Medical Society, the Kentucky Medical Association, American Medical Association, The American Academy of Pediatrics and the medical honorary society Alpha Omega Alpha. |

Lee Ann Carter, APRN, FNP-BC
Mrs. Carter is a graduate of West Carter High School, a Cum Laude graduate of Mountain State University with a BS in Nursing, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of University of Cincinnati School of Nursing graduate program with a MS in Nursing, and received national board certification through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Mrs. Carter has completed greater than 500 hours of clinical work with an emphasis in Pediatrics. She completed her pediatric clinical rotations with Ashland Children’s Clinic where she spent 12 years working in various positions such as nurse, head nurse, clinical coordinator, nurse manager and nurse administrator. Mrs. Carter has 18 years healthcare experience with the Pediatric population. Mrs. Carter is a member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurse Association and Kentucky Nurse Association. |

A small rented office in the downtown 2nd National Bank building was the beginning of what is now considered to be
Ashland’s longest running private pediatric office. Established by Dr. Guy Cunningham in 1948 and later joined by Dr. Bill Schnitzker in 1952, the foundation for Ashland Children’s Clinic was set. Dr. Garner Robinson joined the practice in 1967 and Ashland Children’s Clinic was incorporated. Upon the retirement of Dr. Bill Schnitzker, Dr. Roger Potter joined the practice in 1977. Dr. Ann Craig joined the practice in 1993, bringing her extensive military background to the practice. Life-long Ashland resident. Dr. Ishmael Stevens joined the practice in 2000. Seeing over 18,000 kids per year, Ashland Children’s Clinic remains the oldest pediatric medical home in Boyd County. |
